About Me

Nic Here.

I just finished my Undergraduate degree in English, and have jumped headlong into a Graduate program in Elementary Education at the same college.

I have severe ADD and mild dyslexia, which makes school interesting.

“Define Interesting? Oh God, Oh God, we’re all going to die” -Malcolm Reynolds, Serenity. That quote pretty much sums me up.

I’ve had ADD as long as I can remember, and have developed all sorts of coping mechanisms and methods of dealing. I consider myself a reasonably functional human being. Most of the time.

This blog is a way for me to keep track of my progress, remember that stupid stuff I do can be funny later, and to connect with others having the same issues I have. I also plan to use it as a repository for articles, news, and other media about learning disabilities. I won’t post just about my ADD here, though, because I’d get bored of that pretty damned quickly. So look forward to anecdotes about my students during student teaching, rants about life in general, and shiny things that catch my eye. Cause, hey, I’m ADD.

Also. I have a sense of humor. You may want to, as well.

    I really like your blog.
    I have ADD too.
I don’t talk about it much, except with my parents and my doc (who admittedly I only see when I absolutely have to – even though he’s nice).
So reading about your experiences feels like a breath of fresh air.
I can relate ridiculously well to what you’ve written about and for the first time I am actually laughing about my ADD and not fretting.
    Thanks :)

    Hi Nicola,

Like your posts. Just letting you know that I recently opened an online community for us with ADD ADHD and thought you might be interested. You can promote your blog and meet new people related to ADHD in one way or another. Please check it out: http://www.adderworld.ning.com
